So you want a Husky?

Before anyone assumes anything: I am no expert on the breed. I do however, do extensive research. While my knowledge of German Shepherd Dogs rivals that of Siberian Huskies, I do know what I’m getting myself into. I have to thank Marcie, the owner of Kiki (Jack’s mother), for the opportunity to learn what it takes to own a Sibe.

He’s the dark gray one in the pictures! My baby has a name and now a face! Jack looks like his mama but he has a mask instead of the white face. He’s adorable. Now comes the hard part: Waiting until he can come home…

I’M GETTIN A PUPPY!!!!

So, I just got word that a dog that I fostered just had puppies! And the owner is letting me have one for the cost of shots for the pup. I’m still in the process of convincing my husband to let me have one since I’m in the positive light that we’ll be able to keep this house. If not, Huskies are not a blacklisted breed and I know how much energy they need. Hence my mountain bike that I’ve rigged up as a “sled” So, I may be dusting off my Canon XT and actually get some pictures come August.

Photography has always been my first love and always will be. Maybe with a spunky new subject I’ll be able to hone my skills and actually make use of my programs that I seemed to miss a beta for. (I’m looking at YOU ADOBE LIGHTROOM 3 BETA. Jerks.)

For those of you looking for the next installment of Show Her You Can Dance, don’t worry, I haven’t abandoned that project. I am working on it. It’s just that this point of the story coincides with the game and as many of you know (Or at least those who have played Mass Effect 2), it’s a very serious point in the game as well as my story. Even if I do take artistic liberties. So, rest assured, I am working on it, but I am working on giving you quality work that lives up to what you guys have come to expect

P.S. I did ask the owner to send me some pictures so I can take a look at my potential new pup. I’ll post those up here in my journal should I get those

Dabbles of Writing

She opened door after door in a desperate attempt to find a place to drop her things. But her efforts were turning up nothing and the sharp burning in her leg wasn’t helping. Jenna grumbled when she finally opened the last door only to find, yet again, someone already in the room. She trailed her hand down her face in frustration and closed the door again.

“This is a freaking nightmare,” she grumbled. Begrudgingly, Jenna limped back down the stairs and left the shelter in hopes of finding another one. The bright sun made her flinch as she stepped out into the busy city. Out of the corner of her eye, Jenna caught sight of a man watching her. It looked as if he were trying to stay out of her attention, but she caught him.

Trying to keep up with writing

I’ve always loved writing. It’s something I’ve done since it became part of my curriculum way back in the 8th grade. (I’m going to be 28 in a month, just to give you an idea of how long I’ve been writing.) A lot of my older work then is still with my parents, but I vaguely remember them. Lately, I’ve been writing short stories here and there. Even dabbled in some fanfics (shush, I like stuff like that!), with some really positive results. The fact that I’ve gotten so many comments on my writing style has pushed me to get back into writing again. So, I’ve looked up a few sites that have a nice list of creative writing prompts. At least once a week I’m going to try to do one of those prompts to see what I can crank out.

For those of you who would like to do this too, I’ll provide a link to where I got my prompt from as well as the idea itself.

I might even post some of my other works here just for the sake of putting them somewhere else that they can be found. but seriously, if you really want to see what I’ve done recently, just click on my FanFiction.net link. It’ll take you straight to my profile and my (so far) one story that I’m rather proud of.

Going to make this work

I am bound and determined to make this blasted thing work. My incoherent ramblings have been dumped into my deviantArt account, but that’s not entirely what that place is for. This is. So I’m going to make an effort to actually move those from there to here instead. That and I don’t like the fact that I have to pay to make my journal the way I want it to look. At least in wordpress I can customize it to a degree. Still thinking about hosting it myself so I can do that further, but that’s on the horizon. For now, I’m going to be rambling here a lot more. I may start to mirror my work from dA here. I seem to get more feedback from other places other than there and it’s helping me improve my work more. I joined dA to improve my work, but it’s such a popularity contest there, I might as well be back in High School. I really need to find a more photography centered site so I can pick up points there. Ah well.

It’s Dusty In Here!

So, I almost completely forgot about this thing until recently. I really should pay more attention to it as I did make it, after all. But why has this been abandoned for so long? Well long story short: A lot of crap fell on my last posting. But things are getting better and moving on. I’ve got a few things I’m doing now as far as life goes and as far as gaming goes, well…WoW took a backseat to Mass Effect 2. At least until Cataclysm rolls out. Or I get a beta invite. I hope I get a beta invite. Man, that would be awesome.

So anywho, I changed the look a bit and I may start using this again. Hell, I may start posting my writing as well as my photography should I recover all the pictures I lost in my freaking hard drive failure. Who knows? Until next time!
